Oyo 2027: Adelabu Promises Progress, Security, and Grassroots Development

Immediate past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has officially announced his intention to contest the 2027 Oyo State gubernatorial election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The declaration took place on Tuesday at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Oke Ado, Ibadan, and was attended by prominent party leaders, including Chief Kunle Sanda, Chief Isiaka Alimi, and Chief Wale Sanusi.

Addressing supporters, Adelabu, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), emphasized his vision for the state, promising to implement policies and projects that would improve the living conditions of Oyo residents.

“I am declaring my intention to contest because Oyo State deserves more dividends of democracy, including security, stability, and economic development,” Adelabu said.

He expressed gratitude to past leaders and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting his readiness to leverage experience and exposure for effective governance at the grassroots level. Adelabu described the declaration as more than a political move, framing it as the launch of his manifesto for genuine progress in Oyo State.
