A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) high court on Tuesday sentenced former governor of Plateau State, Joshua Dariye, to 14 years in prison.
The court found Joshua Dariye guilty of misappropriating N1.16 billion Ecological Fund meant for the state.
Justice Adebukola Banjoko in a judgment which took her six and a half hours to read convicted the ex-governor on 15 out the 23 counts preferred against him
Justice Banjoko also found Senator Joshua Dariye guilty of criminal breach of trust as regards N250 million issued to Pinnacle Communications emanating from the state’s Ecological Fund.
Dariye will serve a two-year and 14-year jail term concurrently.
