The Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Everad on Friday visited the Olota of Otta, Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege at his palace in the heart of the ancient town.

During his visit, Everad harped on the need for a stronger bond between Nigeria, Saint Vincent and Grenadines and other Caribbean nations. 

Prince Adeyemi Olusesi, the personal assistant to Obalanlege made this known in a statement he signed and made available to newsheadline247.

Everad and his entourage visited the Olota palace after appearing as the distinguished Guest Speaker for the 15th Convocation Lecture at Bells University of Technology Otta, the statement informed.

Olusesi stated further that the Awori monarch, Obalanlege, who warmly received Everad and his team from the Caribbean nation hailed the visitation and commended the Prime Ministers’ relentless efforts in pursuit of his consistence interests in liberation of the people of the sub-region of the Americas.

The Awori royal father also urged the Caribbean leader “to build on the existing relationship between St. Vincent and Grenadines and our great nation, Nigeria, to further impact humanity and improve on our shared vision,” Olusesi stated.

The Olota of Otta, Awori Kingdom, His Majesty, Oba Professor Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege Ph.D, MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode) received the Prime Minister, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, His Excellency, Ralph Everard Gonsalves at his Palace  on Friday, 4th November 2023.

In his remarks, the Prime Minister appreciated His Majesty for the show of love in receiving him to the Kingdom and for the befitting reception. He, however, acknowledged the role of traditional rulers in nation-building as he took the gathering to the memory lane, establishing the well-defined integration between Nigeria and Saint Vincent and Grenadines, and other Caribbean countries. 

Responding, Olofin Apesin Olode thanked the Prime Minister and his entourage for the visit and equally commended His Excellency for his continuous efforts in liberating his people in the entire Caribbean countries and for keeping bonds with African countries. 

Kabiyesi also urged the Prime Minister to build on the existing relationship between St. Vincent and Grenadines and our great nation, Nigeria, to further impact humanity and improve on our shared vision. To further appreciate the Prime Minister, His Majesty conferred a respected Chieftaincy Title on His Excellency (to be made public soon), affirming Ottaland as his home.

Highly respected personalities in the company of the Prime Minister include H.E. Cenio Lewis, SVG’s High Commissioner to London, Mr. Shevrell Mc Millan, Press Officer, Inspector Irwin Adams, Security Officer. Also in the delegation are top Management of Bells University of Technology, Otta led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Oludele Ojediran.

The Vincentian leading political figure, Prime Minister Ralph was the distinguished Guest Speaker for the 15th Convocation Lecture on Thursday, November 3, 2023 at Bells University of Technology Otta with the theme *“Technological Emancipation of Africa and the Caribbean in Digital Space and Global Drive for Reparation”* and was equally conferred with an honorary degree, Doctor of Sciences (D.Sc) Management Sciences, by the institution at her 15th Convocation Ceremony.
