The Publisher, Editorial Board, and Management of Triangle International Magazine have unveiled the list of distinguished Nigerians selected for the 2026 Face of Africa Leadership Award for Governance and Public Service Excellence.
The prestigious ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 2, 2026, at King’s College London.
According to a statement issued by the magazine’s publisher, Femi Salako, the honourees were selected after a detailed review of nominees’ track records and contributions to governance, public service, and socio-economic development.
The list of award recipients includes notable public office holders and private sector leaders such as Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande.
Others recognised include renowned legal luminary and Founder of Afe Babalola University, Afe Babalola, as well as the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Also on the honours list are the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Charles Soludo; Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma; and Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal.
Other awardees include the Group Managing Director of Sahara Group, Kola Adesina; public sector expert Lekan Ajisafe; insurance professional and philanthropist Aderonke Ademiluyi-Ogunwusi; and Executive Director of Technical Services at the Rural Electrification Agency, Umar Abdullahi Umar.
Also recognised are the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Samuel Ogbuku, and Member of the House of Representatives Gboyega Nasir Isiaka.
The award celebrates exceptional leadership, integrity, and measurable impact in governance, public service, and socio-economic development over the past year. The organisers confirmed that all nominees have been formally notified and several have already confirmed attendance at the ceremony.
This year’s event will also mark the 10th anniversary of Triangle International Magazine and will feature a special anniversary lecture and dinner.
Since its inception, the award has honoured notable Africans including late South African anti-apartheid icon Desmond Tutu, former Nigerian minister Ali Isa Pantami, and veteran diplomat Emeka Anyaoku.
The 2026 edition will feature a keynote lecture themed: “Harnessing the Role of Nigerians in the Diaspora for National Development – Collaboration, Investment, Knowledge Transfer, and Civic Engagement.”
Organisers say the platform remains committed to documenting inspiring leadership stories while celebrating excellence across Africa.
