He has always had a persuasive charm as a fine young man

Nigerian former Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Sunday congratulated superstar singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido on his birthday describing him as a philanthropist who also “positively impact lives” through his music.

On Wednesday last week, Davido took to Twitter and asked his friends to donate one million naira each ahead of his 29th birthday. The star musician made over N160 million less than 24 hours after he made the request.

He made over N200 million in donations after the rare request.

The musician reportedly added N50 million to the huge amount received from several donors and subsequently forwarded all the N250 million as gifts to orphanage homes across the country.

Saraki in a congratulatory message on his verified Twitter handle described Davido as “a fine young man who continues to positively impact lives through his music and philanthropy.”

“This past week on @Instagram, we all watched @Davido ‘playfully’ raise N200 million from his friends, business associates, and other well-wishers — then donate N250 million to orphans across the country,” Saraki stated.

The former Senate President wrote; “Since he was a young boy, @Davido has always had a persuasive charm, a great deal of talent and energy, and the ability to accomplish what others describe as “impossible” — through his sheer grit and hard work.

“As he celebrates his birthday today, I congratulate @Davido for becoming a fine young man who continues to positively impact lives through his music and philanthropy. May Almighty God continue to reward your efforts.”
