Omu, Odogbolu, Ogun State – April 29, 2025 – Senator (Otunba) Gbenga Daniel, representing Ogun East, wrapped up his Gateway Movement’s Open House Reunion tour across nine local government areas (LGAs) in Omu, Odogbolu, with significant empowerment initiatives and community engagement.

The tour, launched in February 2025, aimed to connect with constituents and address local needs through tailored outreach.

At the final event, the Gateway Front Foundation (GFF), chaired by Senator Daniel, extended support to a mother whose daughter has received a full scholarship from primary school through university.

The family, already benefiting from two years of assistance, received an additional year’s worth of cash for child support.

Over 40 constituents were issued GFF Loyalty ATM Cards for access to emergency and palliative funds, while hundreds of families received bags of rice and school exercise books to alleviate economic challenges.

“The Gateway Movement prioritizes sustainable community support alongside political engagement,” Senator Daniel stated, emphasizing direct empowerment.

The tour featured town hall meetings with students, market women, traditional rulers, and community leaders across Ogun East. Initiatives included small business grants, vocational training, eye care services, surgeries, and child welfare programs, customized for each LGA.

Constituents expressed strong support for Senator Daniel’s legislative efforts, including advocacy for Ijebu State creation, the South West Development Commission, and proposed institutions like the College of Aviation in Akaka, the College of Health Sciences in Ijebu Ode, and a Naval Base and Nursing School in Abigi.

Community leaders also highlighted his role in facilitating Dangote Group’s construction of a concrete highway from Lekki-Epe to Ijebu Ode, with the Ijebu Ode-Omu section now 80% complete. The project is expected to boost economic activity and connectivity to Nigeria’s Lekki deep-sea port.

Senator Daniel reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and effective representation, pledging continued focus on Ogun East’s growth. The tour’s conclusion has sparked discussions about its potential to strengthen community ties and influence local politics ahead of future elections. Read More
