Senator Shehu Sani has described the Boko Haram’s dastardly attack on a funeral procession in Borno State, which led to the death of about 65 mourners as tragic and condemnable.

The former lawmaker added that our conscience and wisdom as a nation is challenged, to bring an end to this despicable & dastardly horror.

The insurgents had on a reprisal mission attacked Badu village in Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State and killing over 60 persons and wounded 11 others in the onslaught.

Muhammad Bulama, the Chairman of the local government council, speaking on the incident on Sunday, said the insurgent had recently attacked Badu village but they were repelled by the villagers and members of the vigilante group.

Shehu Sani in reacting to the calamitous incident took to his official Twitter handle on Monday to expressed sadness over the death of the mourners.

He wrote: “The reported massacre of 65 mourners in Borno is tragic and condemnable.

“Every day, our conscience and wisdom as a nation is challenged, to bring an end to this despicable & dastardly horror.”
