Stop the Excuses, Nigerians Need Results Peter Obi Fires at Tinubu

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the country’s worsening economic and security situation, urging the Federal Government to prioritise solutions over explanations.

Obi said Nigerians are becoming increasingly frustrated by the rising hardship across the country and expect urgent intervention instead of repeated justifications from the administration.

According to the former Anambra State governor, millions of Nigerians are struggling with soaring food prices, inflation, unemployment and insecurity, while many households continue to battle harsh economic realities.

He stressed that leadership should be measured by tangible improvements in citizens’ welfare, noting that governance requires accountability, compassion and practical results.

Obi maintained that the Tinubu administration should focus on restoring public confidence, stabilising the economy and addressing insecurity nationwide rather than defending its policies.

The former presidential candidate also warned that Nigerians are closely monitoring how political leaders respond to national challenges as conversations surrounding the 2027 elections continue to gain traction.

His comments have since sparked mixed reactions on social media and within political circles, with supporters describing his remarks as a reflection of public frustration, while critics accused him of politicising national issues.
