Temitayo Agemo-Okuboyejo has expressed deep appreciation to leaders, members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party following her emergence as the party’s consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat in Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a personally signed appreciation message made available to Newsheadline247, Agemo-Okuboyejo described her emergence as a collective victory for the party and the people of the constituency, stressing that the moment symbolised a shared commitment to purposeful representation and meaningful development.
“This moment is not about one individual. It reflects our shared belief that Ado-Odo/Ota can move Beyond Promises into a future of purposeful representation, unity, and meaningful development,” she stated.
The PDP in Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency had earlier announced Agemo-Okuboyejo as its consensus candidate after consultations involving party leaders and stakeholders across the constituency.
Before the decision was reached, Agemo-Okuboyejo and Hon. Tunji Bankole were the two leading aspirants contesting for the PDP ticket.
Party sources disclosed that the process was peaceful and rancour-free, with both aspirants accepting the outcome in the interest of party unity and future electoral success.
In her message, Agemo-Okuboyejo praised members of the party for their support, confidence and commitment throughout the consultation process, while also acknowledging the role played by stakeholders and grassroots supporters across Ogun State.
“With a heart full of gratitude and humility, I extend my heartfelt thanks to Almighty God and to every leader, delegate, stakeholder, supporter, and well-wisher who played a role throughout the process leading to my emergence,” she said.
She also extended special recognition to her co-aspirant, Hon. Tunji Bankole, commending his commitment to democracy and continued service to the party.
“Healthy engagement strengthens democracy, and I look forward to working together in the collective interest of our people,” she added.
Agemo-Okuboyejo further acknowledged several party leaders and stakeholders for their guidance, encouragement and contributions to the growth of the PDP within the constituency and Ogun State.
She specifically thanked members of the State Working Committee led by Dr. Abayomi Tella, the Ado-Odo/Ota local government executives under Hon. Ahmed Shuaib, as well as South West zonal leaders for their commitment to party unity and internal stability.
Declaring that the primary process had ended, the PDP candidate urged members and supporters to focus on the larger task ahead.
“Now that the primary process has concluded, the real work begins,” she stated.
“This is a time to bring our collective purpose to bear, as one family under one party with one shared mission; progress for our constituency and success for our great party.”
She assured supporters that her campaign would be driven by inclusion, humility, respect and service to the people of Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency.
“I remain committed to running a campaign anchored on respect, inclusion, humility, and service,” she said.
“Together, by the grace of God, we will move Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency Beyond Promises.”
