Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign: City Boy Movement Hails Lagos Leaders’ Strategic Roles

The City Boy Movement, Lagos State Chapter, has congratulated prominent Lagos political leaders appointed to strategic positions in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general election.

The group described the appointments as a recognition of the competence, experience, loyalty and political contributions of Lagos leaders who have continued to support the leadership and vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Among those commended by the movement are former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who was appointed Deputy Director-General, Administration.

Gbajabiamila is expected to coordinate administrative activities within the campaign council.

Also recognised is Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who was appointed Deputy Director-General, Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.

His responsibilities include coordinating election planning strategies, monitoring activities and mobilisation efforts.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was appointed South-West Zonal Campaign Coordinator, giving him responsibility for coordinating campaign activities across the region.

The movement also congratulated Hon. Dele Alake, a veteran journalist and presidential aide, on his appointment as Director, Policy and Manifesto Development, as well as Media and Strategic Communication Coordinator.

Another presidential aide and media professional, Hon. Bayo Onanuga, was appointed Coordinating Director, Media/Strategic Communication, where he will play a key role in shaping the campaign’s communication strategy.

Lagos APC chieftain and legal expert, Dr. Muiz Adeyemi Banire, SAN, was appointed Director, Legal Directorate, placing him in charge of the legal affairs of the campaign council.

The movement further celebrated Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government and Lagos State Chapter Director of the City Boy Movement, who was appointed Zonal Director, Youth Mobilization, South-West.

Ogunlewe will be responsible for coordinating youth engagement and mobilisation across the South-West.

The City Boy Movement also acknowledged the contributions of other Lagos political leaders who have continued to provide support and direction towards the success of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to the group, Lagos remains a critical political foundation in President Tinubu’s political journey, adding that the appointment of experienced Lagos figures to key campaign positions demonstrates the confidence placed in the state’s political structure and human resources.

The movement said the appointments would strengthen the APC’s campaign machinery ahead of the 2027 presidential election by bringing together experienced political actors with expertise in grassroots mobilisation, communication, policy advocacy and election coordination.

The City Boy Movement, Lagos State Chapter, wished all the appointees success in their respective assignments and pledged its continued support for initiatives aimed at promoting good governance, development and the consolidation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
