One event keeps leading to the other and it appears more episodes are likely to come up in the controversial reinstatement of Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman of the presidential task force on pension reforms, into the civil service.

From a video obtained by Channels TV, Maina described the circumstances that resulted in his reinstatement.

He said Abubakar Malami, minister of justice, only directed that the court order clearing the path for his reinstatement must be respected after he filed a petition to the effect.

Maina also added that the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan had refused to reinstate him despite being cleared of corruption allegations by the court.

He said Malami met with him in Dubai “after the security agencies cleared me of any wrongdoing”.

Below is the video of Maina explaining how his short-lived reinstatement came to be.
