Akinwunmi Ambode, the Lagos State Governor on Wednesday submitted his governorship nomination forms at the All Progressives Congress (APC) headquarters in Abuja.
Defying reported face-off with his estranged political godfather and national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Ambode’s submission is coming barely 48 hours after Sanwonolu, Tinubu’s alleged anointed candidate picked up his governorship forms at the APC secretariat.
Tinubu’s loyalists, including over 50 council chairmen in the state had reportedly unequivocally pledged their support for the newest anointed candidate, Jide Sanyaolu Sanwonolu.
Sanwolu is widely believed to have strong backing of the APC national leader.
However, Ambode is also said to be making moves and combing Abuja for supports to tackle Tinubu in Lagos.
The stage is no doubt set for a battle-royal between Ambode and Tinubu!
