As the preparation for 2019 general elections hit to gear, another two members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal House of Representatives announced their defection from the ruling party.

The two federal lawmakers dumped the party on Wednesday.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara at the plenary on Thursday read from Stephen Olemija (Ondo State) and Ahmed Abu (Niger State) announcing their defections to the Action Alliance (AA) and Social Democratic Party (SDP), respectively

They both hinged their decisions to quit the party on the conduct and outcome of the APC primaries in their respective states for their defections.

Abu was quoted saying the primaries conducted by the APC in Niger “has left a bitter pill in my mouth.”
