Ladoja attempted to call a meeting to start the process for the coronation of Olakulehin, but it was ignored by other High Chiefs, who are now Obas

Prominent elders in Ibadanland met with former Governor Rasidi Ladoja, also the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, regarding the feud between him and some High Chiefs who were promoted to the status of Obas in the town.

Newsheadline247 understands that there is ongoing conflict between Ladoja, and other High Chiefs in Ibadan over the throne of Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The Olubadan stool became vacant after the passing of the 42nd Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun, at the University College Hospital (UCH) at the age of 81.

According to traditional arrangement in Ibadanland, the next Olubadan is the Balogun of Ibadanland, Owolabi Olakulehin.

In order for Olakulehin to become Olubadan, according to the chieftaincy arrangement in Ibadan, he must be nominated by Otun Balogun Tajudeen Ajibola, who is the next person in his line. This nomination must take place during a meeting that is called by the most senior chief in the other line (Ladoja) within 21 days of the monarch’s demise.
