Ondo Guber Election: Former Lagos NURTW Boss MC Oluomo To Campaign For Aiyedatiwa
Olumo, a transport union leader cum socialite, led the Ondo state chapter of the NURTW to “endorse” the Governor ahead of the gubernatorial election
Former Chairman of the Lagos chapter of the National Union Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Musiliu Akinsanya famously known as MC Oluomo has joined the campaign for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to retain his seat.
Aiyedatiwa is the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 16, 2024 Ondo State governorship election.
Akinsanya who rose to fame as one of the most influential figures in the transport union – and later Chairman of the Lagos state chapter of NURTW, was in Ondo state on Thursday to drum up support for Aiyedatiwa ahead of the election.
Olumo, a transport union leader cum socialite, led the Ondo state chapter of the NURTW to “endorse” the Governor ahead of the gubernatorial election.
The endorsement, which means the NURTW officially backs Aiyedatiwa to remain in office, transpired on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
“Also, a national leader of NURTW, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC OLUOMO, lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa’s outstanding leadership, highlighting that his leadership qualities have garnered strong support from union members.
“He urged all the drivers in the state to continue rallying support for the Governor’s election”, a statement signed by Ebenezer Adeniyan, the Chief Press Secretary to Aiyedatiwa confirmed the presence of the former Chairman of the Lagos state chapter of the NURTW at the event.”
The Chairman of the Ondo State NURTW, Ademola Odudu, was also present at the event, which also saw the presence of the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa; Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan; and APC State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin.
Akinsanya, who exited as the Chairman of Lagos state NURTW in February 2024, is believed to be in Ondo state because of his prominence as a frontline campaigner for President Bola Tinubu’s election.
