Sen. Adeola Secures N26bn for Atan-Alapoti-Ikonga Road Construction to Boost Ogun West Development
Abeokuta, Nigeria – April 29, 2025 Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, representing Ogun West Senatorial District, announced the allocation of N26 billion for the construction of the Atan-Ikonga-Alapoti-Ado-Odo Road during a town hall meeting and empowerment program at the Nigerian Navy School of Music in Ota.
The project, a key initiative in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, is set to drive socioeconomic growth by improving connectivity and fostering development.
As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Adeola highlighted his extensive contributions to infrastructure, noting that he has facilitated 17 completed roads and 11 ongoing projects in the local government. He described the Atan-Alapoti-Ikonga Road as one of his largest projects, poised to transform the region’s economic landscape.
Adeola also revealed that Ogun State is on the verge of becoming an oil-producing state, with crude oil drilling set to begin at Tongeji Island in Ipokia Local Government Area, near the Nigeria-Benin border. He credited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms and Governor Dapo Abiodun’s investor-friendly policies for enabling this milestone, which is expected to boost Nigeria’s oil production and spur economic prosperity in Ogun State.
Praising Governor Abiodun’s leadership, Adeola commended the completion of the agro-cargo airport, the establishment of a dry seaport, and other infrastructure projects that have positioned Ogun as a top destination for investors. He noted that these efforts, combined with Tinubu’s success in attracting foreign direct investment, are driving unprecedented growth.
During the event, Adeola launched a decentralized empowerment program to support constituents across Ogun West, particularly in Ado-Odo/Ota, as a gesture of gratitude for their support in the 2023 elections.
