Abdul Samad Rabiu Pledges Massive Cash Bonuses After Super Eagles’ AFCON Win
Billionaire industrialist and founder of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has announced a generous cash incentive package for the Super Eagles following Nigeria’s impressive 2–0 victory over Algeria in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In a congratulatory message released after Saturday’s encounter, Rabiu praised the national team for delivering a performance that, in his words, “lifted the spirit of the nation.” He added that Nigerians are “proudly cheering the team on” as they advance into the semi-final stage of the continental tournament.
To further motivate the players, the business magnate pledged a $500,000 cash reward should the Super Eagles secure victory in their semi-final clash. In addition, Rabiu promised a $50,000 bonus for every goal scored during the match.
The incentives, however, do not stop there. Rabiu announced an even larger financial commitment if Nigeria goes on to clinch the AFCON title, stating that “should the team go on to win the final,” he would reward the players with $1 million, alongside a $100,000 bonus for each goal scored in the final.

Urging the team to maintain focus and intensity, the BUA chairman encouraged the players to “keep making Nigeria proud” as they continue to carry the hopes of millions on the continental stage.
The pledge has intensified optimism around the Super Eagles as the tournament reaches its decisive phase, reinforcing the belief that strong private sector support can significantly boost morale and performance in national sporting campaigns.
Rabiu’s intervention aligns with a long-standing culture of reward-driven motivation associated with the respected industrialist, who is also the founder of ASR Africa, widely regarded as the largest private philanthropic initiative on the continent, with interventions spanning education, healthcare, social development and humanitarian support.
In December 2025, Rabiu made national headlines when he announced a ₦30 billion cash gift to long-serving BUA Group employees, describing the gesture as “in recognition of excellence, dedication and unwavering brand loyalty.”
Through these consistent acts, the philanthropist has continued to promote a leadership philosophy that blends enterprise with encouragement—using incentives and generosity to inspire excellence in both corporate life and national service. Read More
