Ned Nwoko Rolls Out Free JAMB Registration for 1,500 Students

The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Ned Nwoko, has announced a free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration scheme for 1,500 students from the district, following the commencement of the 2026 UTME exercise nationwide.

The lawmaker made the announcement in a statement released on Wednesday via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, stressing that the initiative aligns with his long-standing belief that education remains the bedrock of sustainable development.

According to Nwoko, the programme is designed to ensure that no qualified student is denied access to higher education due to financial constraints.

The free registration exercise will cover students from Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Ika North East, Ika South, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Oshimili North, Oshimili South, and Ukwuani local government areas of Delta State.

“In furtherance of my commitment to human capital development, I am pleased to announce the commencement of a free JAMB UTME registration drive for 1,500 students from the Delta North Senatorial District for the 2026 academic year,” the senator stated.

He outlined the eligibility criteria, noting that applicants must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, and must have generated a JAMB profile code using their National Identification Number (NIN).

Required information includes the applicant’s full name, JAMB profile code, and council ward for documentation and verification purposes.

Nwoko added that the deadline for registration is Sunday, February 15, 2026, urging interested candidates to complete their application through the designated registration portal.

Reaffirming his commitment to youth empowerment, the senator said he remains resolute in advancing policies and programmes that expand access to education and strengthen the social and economic future of Delta North.

The announcement comes as the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) officially opened registration for the 2026 UTME.

According to JAMB, UTME registration for candidates, including those from foreign countries, will run from January 26 to February 28, 2026, while e-PIN vending began on January 19 and will close on February 26.

For Direct Entry (DE) candidates, the sale of application documents and e-PINs will commence on March 2 and end on April 25, 2026, with registration conducted strictly at JAMB zonal and state offices.

JAMB also announced three categories of e-PINs for the 2026 exercise: Direct Entry at ₦5,700; UTME only without mock at ₦7,200; and UTME with mock at ₦8,700, explaining that the fees cover application charges, reading texts, CBT registration, service charges, bank fees, and mock examination costs where applicable.
