Paul Okoye’s Stage Fall in Perth Ignites Debate Over P-Square Split

43

Nigerian Afrobeats star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy and one-half of the now-defunct duo P-Square, suffered an unexpected fall during a live performance in Perth, Australia.

The incident occurred while the singer was performing the hit track Forever, a fan-favorite from the P-Square catalogue. A viral video circulating online captured the moment the artist lost his footing and fell off the stage, drawing widespread reactions from fans and observers.

Social media users have since weighed in on the mishap. Some critics attributed the fall to Rudeboy wearing dark sunglasses during a nighttime performance, suggesting it may have impaired his visibility. Others, however, linked the incident symbolically to his ongoing rift with his twin brother and former bandmate, Peter Okoye.

The brothers, once celebrated globally as P-Square, parted ways amid disputes involving financial transparency, royalty distribution, and disagreements over the management structure of their music business. Since the split, both artists have pursued separate careers.

Despite the incident, Rudeboy has yet to make an official statement regarding the fall.
