Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Igboho has denied reports suggesting that he spearheaded the operation that led to the rescue of three abducted members of the Adelabu family in Oyo State.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Igboho distanced himself from the rescue mission, describing claims circulating on social media and other platforms as false and misleading.

According to him, the victims were rescued through the efforts of security personnel who successfully tracked the kidnappers to their hideout, secured the victims’ release, and arrested suspects connected to the crime.

Igboho emphasized that the credit for the operation belongs entirely to the security agencies involved, stressing that attributing the rescue to him was inaccurate.

His clarification comes amid comments reportedly made by media personality Rufai Oseni, who linked the Yoruba Nation campaigner to the rescue effort. However, Igboho rejected the assertion and urged members of the public to rely on verified information regarding the incident.

The rescued victims are relatives of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, whose abduction attracted widespread public attention and reignited conversations about security challenges in Nigeria’s South-West region.

The successful rescue operation has been widely praised by residents and government officials, many of whom commended the security operatives for their swift intervention and professionalism.

Meanwhile, authorities have continued investigations into the abduction, with efforts ongoing to apprehend and prosecute all individuals involved in the crime.
