Former Minister of Aviation and Nigeria’s Ambassador-Designate to South Africa, Lesotho and Eswatini, Femi Fani-Kayode, has met with the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, in Abuja as part of preparations for his diplomatic assignment.
Fani-Kayode disclosed the meeting in a post shared on his X account on Friday, stating that he briefed the minister on his readiness to assume his new role representing Nigeria in the three Southern African nations.
According to him, the visit also provided an opportunity to appreciate Idris for his longstanding support and contributions to the administration’s communication efforts.
“It was my honor and pleasure to pay my friend and brother, His Excellency Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, the Minister of Information and National Orientation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a visit in his office yesterday,” Fani-Kayode wrote.
He added that he used the meeting to update the minister on his preparations ahead of his departure for South Africa, where he will also serve as Nigeria’s envoy to the Kingdom of Lesotho and the Kingdom of Eswatini.
Fani-Kayode described Idris as a dependable ally who has stood by him over the years, praising his performance as Minister of Information and National Orientation.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Federal Government’s communication efforts, particularly in projecting the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda to the international community.
