Popular Nigerian singer, Abiola Akinbiyi, better known as Bella Shmurda, has alleged that he was defrauded after paying $4 million for a property in Lagos that he later discovered did not belong to the seller.
The singer made the claim during an emotional Instagram Live session on Tuesday, where he appealed for help and revealed that the transaction had left him devastated.
According to Bella Shmurda, he only recently discovered that the property was allegedly stolen and that the individual who sold it to him had disappeared after receiving the payment.
“I’m not doing okay right now. I spent $4 million of my own hard-earned money, only to find out I bought stolen property,” the singer said during the livestream.
He added that he feared losing the huge sum, describing it as money he had worked for over the years.
“And now the seller has disappeared. Please, help me. Someone step in. I’ve got nothing left. I worked for years for this. I can’t lose $4 million like that,” he said.
Bella Shmurda disclosed that he had already contacted his lawyer to investigate the matter and pursue appropriate legal action.
However, the singer did not reveal the identity of the alleged seller or provide additional details about the property in question.
The allegations remain unverified, and there has been no official statement from law enforcement authorities or any party linked to the transaction.
