Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has died following a prolonged battle with cancer.
The actress passed away on Tuesday evening, according to Nollywood actor Alesh Ola Sanni, who announced the sad news in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
Expressing his grief, Sanni wrote that he had been unable to sleep since learning of her death, describing Osoba as a dear sister with whom he shared memorable moments. He prayed for her soul to rest in peace and said he was struggling to find the right words to express his loss.
Osoba’s death comes less than two years after she publicly appealed for financial assistance to undergo a second cancer surgery in November 2024.
During her battle with the illness, the actress spoke openly about how cancer affected her personal life. In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, she revealed that doctors had informed her she might not be able to conceive for five years because of the medications required for her treatment.
She said further medical tests were carried out to determine the extent of the cancer, adding that despite the doctors’ prognosis, she remained steadfast in her faith through prayers and fasting.
Her death has sparked an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, fans and members of the Nigerian film industry, who have continued to mourn her passing.
