The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed key leaders and members of the City Boy Movement (CBM) to strategic positions in its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections, bringing the pro-Tinubu support group into the party’s campaign mobilisation structure.

Among the prominent appointees are Ayodele Olawande, Co-Patron of the movement, who will serve as Director of the Council’s Directorate of Youth Mobilisation; Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, the movement’s Director-General, appointed Secretary II of the Directorate of Support Group Mobilisation; and O’tega Ogra, Deputy Director-General for Media, Communications and Public Affairs, who has been assigned a role in the Directorate of Media and Strategic Communications.

The appointments extend to members of the movement’s Governing Board, National Working Committee, deputy directors-general and grassroots structures across the country.

In a statement, the City Boy Movement welcomed the appointments, describing them as an opportunity for its members to contribute directly to the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections.

Shoga said the appointments recognised the efforts of members who had invested their time and resources in building the movement’s nationwide structures.

“These appointments are significant for the City Boy Movement and the many individuals who have committed their time, energy and resources to building and strengthening our structures across Nigeria,” he said.

He expressed appreciation for the confidence placed in the appointees and pledged the movement’s cooperation with the APC, the Presidential Campaign Council and other affiliated support groups.

“As a platform that brings together supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across political and social divides, we remain committed to working constructively with the APC, the Presidential Campaign Council and other support groups towards our shared objectives,” Shoga said.

Ogra said the appointments reflected the contributions of members who had helped expand the movement’s reach through community engagement and grassroots mobilisation.

“Behind the growth of the City Boy Movement are dedicated individuals who have invested their time, resources and personal effort in building relationships, mobilising communities and strengthening our structures across the country,” he said.

He added that the new positions came with responsibilities, particularly in coordinating campaign activities, maintaining responsible communication and strengthening engagement with political stakeholders.

“As we take on our respective roles, our focus must remain on effective coordination, responsible communication and constructive collaboration with the APC and other stakeholders,” Ogra said.

The movement congratulated the leadership and members of the newly inaugurated Presidential Campaign Council, while thanking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC leadership for the confidence placed in its members.

It also reaffirmed its support for Tinubu and his Renewed Hope agenda, pledging to deploy its nationwide networks, grassroots experience and organisational capacity in support of his re-election bid in 2027.
