Rabiu Kwankwaso accuses the ADC campaign council of targeting Peter Obi and the NDC, insisting the party will not withdraw from the presidential race
Kwankwaso Fires Back at ADC Over Attacks on Obi, Insists NDC Won’t Quit Presidential Race

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council of targeting him, presidential candidate Peter Obi and their party, describing the alleged attacks as “unnecessary and unhelpful”.
Kwankwaso urged the ADC campaign team to focus on presenting its candidate’s credentials to Nigerians instead of making what he described as attempts to undermine the NDC presidential ticket.
In a statement, the former Kano State governor said the NDC had consistently presented its credentials and record of achievements to the electorate rather than engaging in political attacks.
“Rather than focusing on presenting the competence, credibility, and capacity of their own candidate as we have consistently done by placing our credentials and record of achievements before Nigerians, the ADC Presidential Campaign Council appears intent on creating mischief against our party and ticket,” he said.
Kwankwaso alleged that the ADC campaign council was attempting to portray the NDC presidential ticket as working for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He also accused the council of suggesting that the NDC could withdraw from the presidential race in favour of the ADC candidate.
He warned that the claims could mislead NDC supporters as election day approaches, insisting that his party had no intention of abandoning its presidential ambition.
“Let me state clearly and unequivocally: we will not withdraw our candidature for the ADC or any other party. We remain confident in our capacity, competence, and readiness to lead Nigeria,” he declared.
The NDC vice-presidential candidate also challenged the ADC Presidential Campaign Council to respond to allegations reportedly levelled against its candidate by Vice-President Kashim Shettima rather than focusing its criticism on the NDC leadership.
“The ADC-PCC would be better served directing its energy toward rebutting the serious allegations levelled against their candidate by the Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, instead of targeting me and His Excellency Peter Obi,” Kwankwaso asserted.
He dismissed suggestions that the NDC presidential ticket was acting in the interest of the APC, arguing that there was no justification for his party to withdraw from the contest.
Kwankwaso maintained that the NDC offered Nigerians an alternative to both the APC-led government and the ADC, while expressing confidence in the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket.
He said the ticket was committed to promoting national unity and tackling Nigeria’s challenges in security, education, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare and the economy.
The former Kano governor urged NDC supporters and other Nigerians to remain committed to the party’s campaign and work towards its victory.
