By Lukman OMIKUNLE

Aare Ayodele Bankole has been appointed Chairman of the Finance and Fundraising Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, in a move that places his extensive corporate experience at the centre of the party’s campaign financial mobilisation efforts.

Bankole’s appointment was announced alongside other members of the committee, with Jamiu Baoku named Vice Chairman and Alhaji Kabir Ajayi appointed Secretary.

His appointment is coming against the backdrop of a distinguished career spanning several decades across advertising, marketing communications, brand management and the oil and gas industry, with a professional record marked by significant responsibilities and notable career milestones.

Bankole began his professional journey in advertising and marketing communications before transitioning into brand management at Wonderfoods Limited, now Promasidor Nigeria, the company behind popular Nigerian consumer brands including TOPTEA, COWBELL and ONGA food seasoning.

His experience in the corporate sector expanded in 2002 when he moved into the oil and gas industry following Otunba Mike Adenuga’s emergence as a core investor in National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company Plc, formerly NOLCHEM, which subsequently became Conoil Plc.

Bankole was part of a young and dynamic team of professionals drawn from Nigeria and other parts of the world to manage the transition of the major oil and gas marketing company from NOLCHEM to Conoil. The experience further broadened his exposure to corporate transformation, business management and strategic operations in one of Nigeria’s prominent downstream petroleum companies.

His professional journey across different sectors has equipped him with experience in brand development, strategic communication, corporate management and organisational transformation. These are considered relevant skills for the responsibilities associated with his new political assignment.

As Chairman of the Finance and Fundraising Committee, Bankole is expected to play a central role in developing strategies for financial mobilisation, fundraising, budget planning and financial oversight in support of the APC Campaign Council’s activities in Ado-Odo/Ota.

The committee is expected to coordinate lawful fundraising initiatives, mobilise financial support from party members and other eligible contributors, and work with relevant party officials to promote transparency, accountability and prudent management of campaign resources.

Other committees announced as part of the APC Campaign Council’s structure ahead of the 2027 general elections include the Reconciliation, Integration and Conflict Management Committee, chaired by Chief Jide Ojuko; the League of Professionals Committee, chaired by Hon. Barr. Aina Akinpelu; and the Intergovernmental Agency Relations Committee, chaired by Segun Ojolowo-Ojuko.

Kola Salako was named Chairman of the Planning and Strategy Committee, while High Chief Adedayo Akindele Eleku will head the Security Committee, among other appointments.

Bankole’s appointment adds a corporate and business management dimension to the campaign council’s financial structure, as the APC moves to organise its campaign activities and strengthen its operational capacity in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
