Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has disclosed that he spends between $200,000 and $300,000 (about N300 million to N400 million) every month to maintain his celebrity lifestyle.
The award-winning singer made the revelation during a recent livestream with streamer Davrel, where he spoke about the financial demands of being a globally recognised entertainer.
According to Davido, the amount covers only his personal expenses and does not include the cost of taking care of his wife, Chioma Adeleke, or other members of his household.
“I spend between $200,000 and $300,000 every month and that doesn’t even include my wife’s expenses or the rest of my household,” he said.
Davido further clarified that the monthly expenditure also excludes purchases of luxury items such as expensive cars and jewellery.
The singer’s comments have sparked reactions online, with many expressing surprise at the amount required to sustain the lifestyle of one of Africa’s biggest music stars.
