Actress Damilola Adegbite has appealed to the public to promote more uplifting conversations about love, marriage and healthy relationships, insisting that lasting unions built on trust and mutual support still exist.

Speaking in a video shared on her Instagram page, the actress said she remains optimistic about the possibility of long-term, fulfilling relationships despite the growing number of negative stories surrounding love and marriage.

According to Adegbite, tales of heartbreak, betrayal, failed marriages and disappointment often dominate public discussions, while relationships founded on peace, personal growth and genuine companionship rarely receive the same attention.

She questioned whether her continued belief in lasting love made her seem unrealistic and invited others to share experiences of partners who have positively impacted their lives away from the public eye.

The actress stressed that she was referring to authentic relationships that thrive behind the scenes rather than those portrayed on social media or in front of cameras.

Adegbite encouraged couples enjoying healthy and fulfilling relationships to speak openly about their experiences, noting that positive stories deserve just as much attention as conversations about marital struggles.

She said normalising stories of relationships that foster peace, growth and purpose could inspire hope and provide a more balanced perspective on love and marriage.

“Is there anyone who still believes in love? Besides the horror and terrible stories that we keep hearing, disappointments in marriages, betrayals and heartbreak.

“I still believe that long-lasting, healthy relationships can exist. I feel like I don’t want to be alone; am I dreaming of La La Land?

“Does anyone have a partner who has been a genuine blessing? I’m not talking about being in front of the camera; in private, you are something else. I am talking about behind the scenes; your partner has made you a much better version of yourself.

“Let’s normalise sharing stories of relationships and marriages that bring peace, growth and purpose too,” she said.
