Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has appealed to Nigerians and her fans worldwide for financial assistance as she prepares to undergo urgent life-saving surgeries.
In an emotional video shared on her Instagram page on Thursday, the celebrated actress revealed that she has been hospitalised for the past three weeks. Although she did not disclose the specific nature of her illness, she said her condition requires immediate surgical intervention.
Describing the appeal as one of the most difficult decisions she has ever made, Nwosu called on friends, colleagues, family members and supporters to come to her aid.
“My fans, friends, family and colleagues, this was really hard for me to do, but I can’t keep quiet any more. I need urgent life-saving surgeries,” she said in the video.
The actress also urged members of the public to help spread her message and contribute toward her treatment if they are able.
“Please don’t scroll past. Share this post and support if you can. God bless you, and may you and yours never experience this affliction,” she pleaded.
According to Nwosu, she requires a total of N30 million to cover the cost of all the surgeries. She asked intending donors to contact her legal representative or management for details on how to provide support.
“Please contact my legal representative or management for more details. Total amount needed for all surgeries is N30,000,000,” she added.
Ngozi Nwosu is one of Nollywood’s most respected actresses, widely recognised for her memorable performances in Domitila, Fuji House of Commotion, and numerous other acclaimed Nigerian films and television productions.
