The eventual winner of among the two sides would move to the top of the log

Nasarawa United will this afternoon trade tackles with former African champions, Enyimba FC in a tough duel in the matchday 8 of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League as they seek to boost their chances in the quest for their first title.

The encounter against the peoples’ elephant will no doubt be an uphill task for Nasarawa Utd this afternoon at the Lafia Township stadium as a slip would jeopardize their title ambition.

The eventual winner of among the two sides would move to the top of the log pending the outcome of Thursday’s game between Katsina United and Rivers United in Katsina.

However, if the matches in Lafia and Katsina United end in stalemates, only Nasarawa United will lose their position to Sunshine Stars, if the ‘Akure Gunners’ who are away to Abia Warriors in Aba are able to pick the maximum three points.

Nasarawa Utd must avoid defeat against their more illustrious opponents in order to at least maintain their top three position.

League leaders, Rivers United, also face a tough in their bid to maintain leadership of the log they face relegation threatened Katsina United who were roundly beaten by Enyimba in Aba in round of week 7 games.

Adamawa United and Abia Warriors who are both rooted in the relegation zone will seek redemption out of the fall as they seek valuable points against Akwa United and Sunshine Stars respectively.

While Adamawa United suffered a slim 0-1 loss at Rivers United in week 7, Abia Warriors managed to hold Lobi Stars to 0-0 draw in Makurdi.

In Kaduna, Kano Pillars who lost 0-1 at Akwa United will also be aiming to bounce back to winning ways when they host Jigawa Golden Stars at the Ahmadu Bello stadium.

In form, Kwara United will host Lobi Stars while strugglers Warri Wolves from Delta State have their hands full when they battle Plateau United in Warri.

Enugu Ranger after their woeful 1-3 defeat to Sunshine Stars in Akure in week 7 will go all out to rekindle their intention for the league title when they host Dakkada FC. Wikki Tourists will also battle struggling MFM at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.

In the oriental derby, Heartland who lost narrowly to Jigawa Golden Stars will welcome fellow easterners FC IfeanyiUbah to round up matchday 8 fixtures.

The Nazi millionaires are also a relegation-threatened side.
