A former Chairman of the Ogun State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji (Dr) Surajudeen ‘Soji Olusesi, has called on the residents of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state to adhere to safety rules and regulations made to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the council area and its environs.
Olusesi, while expressing concerns over confirmed cases in the local government, ascribed the huge number of infections recorded in the council to multiple non-compliance with safety rules put in place by the state government.
He also added that nearness of the council, particularly Ota, to Lagos no doubt contributes to the growing number of coronavirus cases in the local government.
Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, one of the most populous councils in the state, has recorded the highest number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ogun State.

In a chat with newsheadline247, Olusesi, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, also asked the state government to do more in the battle to flatten the curve of the spread of COVID-19 in Ogun State.
He further urged the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to do more on sensitizing the people on the need to comply with safety rules against the virus.
Olusesi, however, called on the residents and those doing their business in the council to always make use of their face masks, wash their hands with soap or otherwise apply hand sanitizer regularly as prescribed the health authority saying the war against the dreadful coronavirus is a collective battle and should not be left with the government alone.
