Veteran Nollywood actor Taofeek Salami, popularly known as Tioruju Mondusi, has opened up about what he described as the most painful experience of his life, revealing that his late wife admitted in court that two of their five children were not biologically his.
The actor made the revelation during an appearance on the African A-List podcast, where he recounted the events that led to the breakdown of their marriage.
According to Salami, the ordeal began when he returned from a film location several years ago and discovered that his wife, who was heavily pregnant at the time, had disappeared from their home.
He explained that despite repeated efforts to contact her, he was unable to reach her for two days. When he eventually got through to her, she allegedly refused to disclose her whereabouts.
The veteran actor said he later visited his mother-in-law’s residence to lodge a complaint, only to discover evidence suggesting that his wife had undergone a traditional introduction ceremony with another man.
Salami claimed that after confronting her, she returned home and openly questioned whether he was the father of the child she was carrying.
“She asked me who told me that I owned the pregnancy,” he recalled during the interview.
The actor said tensions escalated after she gave birth and requested that the child’s naming ceremony be held at his residence despite allegedly declaring that the baby was not his.
Following the disagreement, Salami said he involved law enforcement authorities and later became embroiled in a legal battle after his wife filed for the dissolution of their marriage.
According to him, it was during the court proceedings that she confessed that both their third child and youngest child were fathered by another man.
Salami further alleged that his wife had maintained a long-term relationship with the individual, who was already married and had children of his own.
Reflecting on the experience, the actor described the revelation as deeply devastating, saying it remains the greatest emotional pain he has ever endured.
He also disclosed that his former wife passed away last year, claiming she suffered depression after the man she allegedly left him for abandoned the relationship and returned to his family.
Despite the painful memories, Salami prayed for God’s forgiveness for his late wife, saying the incident brought him to tears and left a lasting impact on his life.
