Oluwo got hit with N100m lawsuit as Agbowo goes to court over assault
Oba Dhikrulahi Akinropo, the Agboowu of Ogbaagba, has filed a suit against the Oluwo of Iwo, Abdulrosheed Akanbi, for allegedly assaulting him at a meeting in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.
The suit was filed at an Osun State High Court with the aggrieved monarch demanding N100 million.
The Agbowo in the writ of summons dated February 27, by his counsel, Soji Oyetayo, also demanded perpetual injunction restraining Oba Akanbi and his “agents’ from committing any further assault on him.
Apart from the N100 million demanded, Oba Akinropo also asked the court to award N1 million against the Oluwo as cost of hiring legal service for the action.

Newsheadline247 understands six other monarchs from the three local government areas in Iwo, who witnessed the alleged assault, also deposed to affidavits to testify on behalf of the Agbowu against the Oluwo.
The matter, according to reports, is yet to be assigned to a judge.
The Alleged Assault
In February, the Oluwo of Iwo had allegedly assaulted the Oba Akinropo, over a land dispute in Iwoland.
The alleged assault took place at the office of the Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police, Zone 11, in Osogbo.
The AIG, Bashir Makama, had summoned a peace meeting over lingering land dispute involving some monarchs in some parts of Osun State.
Reports indicate the AIG made a call for the peace meeting after several meetings held in Iwo over the matter ended in a deadlock,
Other traditional rulers present at the peace meeting where the incident occurred were Quadri Adeoye, Oluwo of Iwo-Oke; Oyebamiji Oyeleso of Oluponna, Adio Oyediran of Igegeland, Solomon Ojo of Ikonifin, Moshood Oparonke of Eesu, among others.
Oba Akanbi had, during the meeting, allegedly pounced on Oba Akinropo and pummeled him with punches which consequently landed the Agboowu in an Osogbo hospital.
Oluwo, however, denied attacking his fellow monarch.
Sequence to the alleged assault was a public outcry, which subsequently led to the suspension of Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Akanbi, from attending the Osun State Traditional Rulers Council meeting for six months while the state government is yet to act on the matter.
