Actress Uche Montana has been named the recipient of the Trailblazer Award at the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards held in Lagos on Saturday.
The prestigious honour celebrates emerging talents making remarkable contributions to African film and digital storytelling. Montana received the recognition for her growing influence across television and online platforms, where she has earned acclaim for her acting performances and original digital content.
The Trailblazer Award is one of the AMVCA’s special recognition categories, presented independently of public voting and jury-decided competitive awards. Over the years, the category has spotlighted actors and filmmakers driving innovation and shaping the future of Nollywood and the broader African entertainment industry.
Montana’s recognition came during a star-studded ceremony featuring 32 award categories spanning film, television, and digital media. The event was aired live on Africa Magic channels and streamed via DStv Stream and GOtv Stream.
Her latest achievement adds to the increasing number of young Nigerian creatives gaining national attention for expanding the reach of African storytelling to younger and global audiences.
