Former Big Brother Naija housemate and professional boxer Mike Edwards has publicly challenged content creator Carter Efe to a boxing match, accusing him of deliberately avoiding a high-profile clash.
The call-out comes shortly after Efe’s recent victory over singer Speed Darlington. In an Instagram post shared on Monday, Edwards claimed the streamer has been sidestepping him despite multiple opportunities to settle the score in the ring.
Edwards, who styles himself “Machine Mike,” revealed that he approached Efe before the content creator’s debut fight. He advised Efe to first gain experience and secure a win, after which the two could face off in a bigger bout. According to Edwards, Efe has now competed three times while he himself has fought only once.
“Quit fighting these bums and accept a real challenge,” Edwards wrote. He acknowledged that Efe is earning well from his matches but insisted fans deserve better value. “Give the people value for their money. You don’t fight enough now,” he added.
The former reality star said he has already held discussions with Balmoral Promotions about organising the proposed fight. Edwards plans to compete in Dubai on 7 November before turning his full attention to a potential showdown with Efe.
In the post, he declared: “Now you’re saying you want to fight ‘REAL MEN’ and ‘REAL FIGHTERS’… I’ve been right here the whole time. Before your first fight, I told you: go handle business, get the W, then me and you make the SUPER FIGHT. I kept the receipts. Fast forward – you’ve had 3 fights, I’ve had 1. So what’s the excuse now? QUIT FIGHTING THESE BUMS AND ACCEPT THE REAL CHALLENGE.”
He concluded with a direct challenge: “MACHINE MIKE vs CARTER EFE. You say you want a real fighter? I’M NOT HARD TO FIND. QUIT DUCKING ME.”
It remains to be seen whether Efe will accept the dare.
