Ado-Odo/Ota Poultry Expansion Gets Boost as FACCOWA Apologises, Promises Swift Equipment Delivery
Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its poultry farm as part of efforts to strengthen food security, create jobs and boost internally generated revenue, with leading poultry equipment manufacturer FACCOWA Ltd assuring the council of the prompt delivery of equipment delayed by the company.
The development came as the Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA, received the management of FACCOWA Ltd on a courtesy visit at the Council Secretariat. A statement made available to NewsHeadline247 on Thursday by the chairman’s Media Office said the company visited to appreciate the council for its patronage, apologise for the delay in delivering poultry equipment already purchased by the local government and reaffirm its commitment to completing the supply without further delay.
The meeting also centred on plans to expand the recently revitalised Ado-Odo Local Government Poultry Farm, a flagship project of the Wasiu administration designed to increase local food production, generate employment and strengthen the council’s revenue base.
Leading the delegation, the Chief Executive Officer of FACCOWA Ltd, Mr. Olufemi Adelayo, expressed gratitude to the council for its confidence in the company while offering an apology over the delayed equipment delivery. He assured the chairman that the outstanding items would be delivered as quickly as possible.
“We sincerely apologise for the delay in the delivery of the equipment already procured by the Council,” Adelayo said, assuring that the company would “expedite the delivery process” and ensure the timely supply and installation of battery cages and other modern poultry equipment needed for the farm’s expansion in line with global best practices.
Discussions also revisited the longstanding relationship between both parties, noting that Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government had previously engaged FACCOWA Ltd during Hon. Wasiu’s transition administration. Both sides expressed confidence that the existing partnership would support the successful execution of the ongoing expansion project.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to agricultural development, Hon. Wasiu described the poultry farm as a strategic investment that would deliver multiple economic benefits to residents.
“The revitalisation and expansion of the Council’s poultry farm remain integral components of my administration’s development agenda,” the chairman said. He explained that the project is intended to increase access to affordable, protein-rich food, strengthen food security, create employment opportunities and improve the council’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
The chairman stressed that the timely delivery of the equipment was critical to the next phase of the project and expressed confidence that FACCOWA Ltd would honour its renewed commitment.
Also present at the meeting was the Director of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr. Omidiji Ezekiel Abolade, who said the prompt delivery and installation of the equipment would significantly improve the operational capacity of the council’s poultry farm and position it as a model for modern poultry production in Ogun State.
FACCOWA Ltd is recognised for manufacturing modern poultry systems, including battery cages for layers and broilers, feeding and drinking systems, ventilation facilities, manure removal systems, incubators and other advanced poultry technologies.
The visit underscores the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government’s continued investment in modern agriculture as part of its broader strategy to improve food security, stimulate economic growth and enhance the socio-economic well-being of residents.
