Rodri headlined the list of individual award winners at the FIFA World Cup 2026 after inspiring Spain to a historic triumph, as FIFA honoured the tournament’s standout performers following Sunday’s dramatic final.
The Manchester City midfielder was named winner of the adidas Golden Ball after playing a pivotal role in Spain’s march to a second World Cup title. Rodri’s commanding displays in midfield helped La Roja complete a remarkable campaign, culminating in a 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina in the final at New York New Jersey Stadium.
Argentina captain Lionel Messi finished as the recipient of the adidas Silver Ball after another influential tournament, while France forward Kylian Mbappe claimed the adidas Bronze Ball to round off the competition’s three best players.
Mbappe also walked away with the adidas Golden Boot after finishing as the tournament’s leading scorer. Messi added the adidas Silver Boot to his collection, while England star Jude Bellingham earned the adidas Bronze Boot following another impressive World Cup campaign.
Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon was named winner of the adidas Golden Glove after keeping seven clean sheets in eight matches, including the decisive shutout in the World Cup final against Argentina.
Spain’s memorable tournament was further recognised as teenage defender Pau Cubarsi received the FIFA Best Young Player Award, presented by Aramco. Cubarsi emerged as one of the revelations of the competition, anchoring a defence that conceded just one goal throughout the tournament.
The Netherlands were also honoured with the FIFA Fair Play Trophy, presented by McDonald’s, in recognition of their exemplary discipline and sportsmanship during the competition.
