Omo-Agege Raises Alarm Over Alleged Threats, Warns Delta Governor
Former Deputy President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has raised the alarm over what he described as “disturbing and increasingly credible threats” to his life and those of his family members in Delta State.
Omo-Agege, the Delta Central senatorial district candidate, raised the concern as he commenced his campaign tour of the eight local government areas in the district.
In a statement, the former lawmaker alleged that the threats were emanating from the Delta State Government House in Asaba, urging Nigerians, the international community, civil society organisations, the media and security agencies to take note of the situation.
“As I commence the campaigns, beginning today with stops in Uvwie Local Government Area, and the other seven Local Government Areas, I want the Nigerian public, the international community, civil-society organisations, the media, and all security agencies to take formal notice,” he said.
Omo-Agege said he would hold Governor Sheriff Oborevwori responsible if anything happened to him or any member of his family.
“Should anything untoward happen to me or members of my family, the Nigerian people and more particularly the Urhobo people of Delta Central senatorial district should HOLD the Governor of Delta State, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori responsible and accountable,” he said.

The former Senate Deputy President did not disclose specific details of the alleged threats but called on relevant authorities and stakeholders to take his concerns seriously.
The warning comes as Omo-Agege begins his campaign across Delta Central, seeking the support of voters in the senatorial district.
