Paris Saint-Germain edged Bayern Munich 5–4 in a breathless Champions League semi-final first leg that will go down as one of the greatest matches in the competition’s history, featuring relentless drama, nine goals, and two double scorers in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé.

The spectacle at Parc des Princes exploded early, with Harry Kane converting a penalty to put Bayern ahead. PSG quickly responded through Kvaratskhelia’s brilliant solo finish, before João Neves powered in a header to flip the scoreline in the hosts’ favour.

Michael Olise restored parity at 2–2, but Dembélé struck from the spot in first-half stoppage time to send PSG into the break leading 3–2.

After the restart, PSG accelerated into dominance. Kvaratskhelia finished off a slick move assisted by Achraf Hakimi, and Dembélé added his second with a low strike that left Manuel Neuer helpless, pushing the score to a stunning 5–2.

Bayern refused to collapse. Dayot Upamecano pulled one back with a powerful header from a Joshua Kimmich free-kick, and Luis Díaz added a late fourth after a mazy run past Marquinhos to make it 5–4 and set up a tense finale.

Despite Bayern’s late surge—and a late PSG effort that rattled the crossbar—the French champions held on to take a slender advantage into the return leg in Munich.

The result sets up a finely balanced second leg at the Allianz Arena, with a place in the final in Budapest on May 30 still wide open. PSG chase back-to-back European crowns, while Bayern aim to return to the final for the first time since their 2020 triumph over PSG.
