Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has declared Senator Aliyu Wadada as his preferred candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made during a meeting with political appointees at the Government House in Lafia, signaling early political positioning as the race for the state’s top seat begins to take shape.
Wadada, who currently represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, recently defected from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the APC. His move is widely seen as part of a strategic effort to strengthen his governorship ambition under the ruling party.
The governor’s endorsement is expected to influence the political landscape within the APC in Nasarawa State, as aspirants begin to align ahead of the party’s primaries.
