Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2023 election, on Wednesday visited ex-military President Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

The former Vice President also visited another former military Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar.

Atiku met both former Nigerian rulers at their respective homes in Minna, the Niger State capital.

Posting on X, Atiku wrote: “Today, I paid Sallah homage to former Heads of State Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) and Gen. Abdusalami at their residences in Minna, Niger State.”

The meeting is coming amid claims of Atiku preparing to set the grounds for the 2027 presidential election.

In May, Atiku had vowed to continue contesting for the presidency as long as he’s healthy.

He made the comment amid his move to form a coalition with Peter Obi, his counterpart from the Labour Party, LP, and other political parties.
