The 80th birthday celebration and biography launch of renowned businessman Olatunde Badmus has sparked widespread cultural conversations after a viral video captured moments of respect exchanged between the celebrant, music icon King Sunny Ade, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

At the high-profile event, which also featured the unveiling of Badmus’ biography titled Man of Many Frontiers, the octogenarian businessman was seen approaching the Ooni’s seat and performing a respectful squat in keeping with Yoruba tradition, despite his age.

In response, the monarch rose from his seat to welcome Badmus warmly before both men exchanged pleasantries in a moment many observers described as deeply symbolic.

Veteran juju musician King Sunny Ade also paid homage to the revered monarch by bowing respectfully and removing his hat before greeting the Ooni, who in turn assisted the music legend to his feet and shared a brief conversation with him.

The touching display, captured in footage shared by RNC Media, has since generated praise from many Nigerians, who described the exchange as a reflection of Yoruba cultural values rooted in humility, respect for traditional institutions, and mutual honour regardless of social status or achievement.
