Dangote Refinery called on marketers and distributors to source directly from the facility to ensure that the benefits of the price reduction are fully passed on to consumers

Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Ex-Depot Price Again, Now N835 per Litre

In a move that could ease transportation and logistics costs nationwide, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced another reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

The gantry price has been cut from N865 to N835 per litre, effective Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

This is the second reduction within a week, reflecting the company’s ongoing efforts to provide fuel at more affordable rates for Nigerian consumers.

According to a statement made available to newsheadline247, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, stated that  key partner retail outlets such as MRS, Ardova (AP), Heyden, Optima Energy, Hyde, and Techno Oil will now sell petrol at the following revised rates:

Lagos: N890 per litre (down from N920)
South-West: N900 per litre (down from N930)
North-West and North-Central: N910 per litre (down from N940)
South-East, South-South, and North-East: N920 per litre (down from N950)

Dangote Refinery says the reductions are part of a broader pricing strategy aimed at delivering relief to consumers and supporting national economic recovery.

“These price reductions reaffirm our commitment to providing high-quality petrol at affordable rates,” the company said in a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer.

Earlier in February, the refinery implemented two consecutive price cuts totaling N125, and similar reductions have also been seen in the prices of diesel and LPG.

Industry watchers suggest that these reductions could generate positive ripple effects across sectors, potentially stabilizing transportation fares, food prices, and industrial production costs.

The company emphasized that it has sufficient fuel reserves to meet local demand while also supporting export activities, a strategy it says will help boost Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings.

Dangote Refinery also called on marketers and distributors to source directly from the facility to ensure that the benefits of the price reduction are fully passed on to consumers. Read More
